Joy Mingay – Company Director
As the owner and operator of Classic Recruitment in Toowoomba, Joy brings more than 25 years of experience in recruitment to the business. With a deep understanding of employment from the ground up, she proudly specialises in employment and human resource management for small business.
Joy purchased Classic Recruitment in 2007 and since then has more than trebled its output by maintaining her commitment to clients and her unfailing attention to detail.
Prior to purchasing Classic Recruitment Joy was Business Development Manager for the University of Southern Queensland for more than eight years. In this role she was responsible for the university’s event management, all commercial sponsorship and the management of the USQ Corporate Club. Joy’s previous work experience includes a fascinating few years in the Australian Consular Office in Papua New Guinea.
Joy is passionate about her community and opportunities for its growth across many sectors. She has always given a great deal of her time, effort and energy to serving on community committees including:
- Founding committee member of Women on the Move
- Member of the Cobb & Co Museum Development Board (which built the eight million dollar extension)
- Founding member of the Toowoomba Says No to Violence committee (a QLD Police initiative to address violence in the community).
- Director of the Board of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce (2010-2012)
- Vice-President of the Board of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce (2012-2015)
- Chair of the Chamber of Commerce’s Business Excellence Awards Committee (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015)

- President of the Board of the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce (2015-2016).
Joy is immensely proud of her two adult sons who were educated at Toowoomba Grammar School. Both are married to gorgeous girls, are forging successful careers and raising their young families in Brisbane.
Lisa Lee – Human Resources Manager
Lisa is a dynamic and experienced human resources professional with practical staff management experience who is committed to supporting small & medium business owners in leveraging the best possible performance from their people while importantly, ensuring they have the most appropriate HR systems, policies and procedures in place.
Lisa has worked locally in Toowoomba for more than a decade, her past roles have been Group HR Manager, HR Advisor and Company Secretary for well-known Toowoomba business, Russell Mineral Equipment. Prior to moving to Toowoomba, Lisa was with the Reserve Bank of Australia in Canberra, her final role being that of Manager, Government Banking.
Lisa enjoys actively participating in a range of HR and business forums, increasing her knowledge base and has developed a strong presence with a reputation for “doing the right thing” in a thorough and caring manner.
Lisa’s expertise encompasses the provision of advice on human resource management issues including HR policies & procedures, mediation & conflict resolution, administration & record keeping, workforce planning, industrial relations, performance development & management, human resource information systems, recruitment and selection and other employee relations matters.
Lisa has professional qualifications in human resources management. She is a Certified Australian Human Resource Institute practitioner (CAHRI) and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AFAIM). Lisa is committed to maintaining a contemporary view of HR and IR developments through continuing professional development.
Rosie Kent – Recruitment Consultant
When making the move from Brisbane to study at USQ, Rosie fell in love with Toowoomba and the charms of its lifestyle, calling the city home for over 16 years. She has laid the foundations of her career through the completion of a Bachelor of Business, and subsequent introduction into the industry within construction, administration, manufacturing and transport arenas.
Rosie is a dynamic, resourceful and strategic thinking young woman who has a strong professional presence in the Darling Downs. Strength in relationships with organisations such as The Chamber of Commerce as a Committee Member of the Chamber’s Future Leaders group places Rosie at the forefront of economic, business and community developments throughout the region. Representing Classic Recruitment within corporate circles, particularly with professionals aged 18 to 35, has allowed Rosie to develop a significant network of individuals and businesses within which to draw specific skill sets and recognise local talent.
Rosie’s love of gizmos and all things IT is a reflection of her ability to morph with the times and meet the needs of the increasingly competitive recruitment industry. Her ability to effectively target niche audiences through the selective use of social media, advertising and networking benefits her clients with dissemination of corporate branding and business representation within a personalised recruitment service.
Rosie is passionate about people. With a background in human resources, administration, retail and hospitality, Rosie’s personable demeanour and likeability sees her shine within her field.
Rosie McGill – Labour Hire Consultant
Rosie is a young professional who grew up on a grazing property North West of Goondiwindi and boarded at The Glennie School for high school.
Rosie is a dedicated ‘people person’ with a confident manner enabling her to effectively ascertain your needs. She has a strong customer service focus and doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
As a Classic consultant, Rosie works in consultation with you to provide labour hire solutions for both short and long term assignments. Rosie also assists with permanent placements, working diligently to screen and short-list candidates to ensure the best possible candidate is placed in each & every role.
Rosie’s quiet confidence, energy, reliability and organisational skills are highly valued and can be relied on to provide “last minute miracles” in providing quality staff who will ‘fit’ with your organisation at short notice.
Rosie commenced with Classic in January 2015 and is looking forward to completing her formal qualifications with USQ in 2016.
