Nursery Hand

Our client is looking for experienced Nursery Hand to join their busy team just outside of Toowoomba. This is a casual position with a pay rate in the vicinity of $26.00 per hour. Hours of work will vary from week-to-week across six to seven days. An immediate start is available.

About the role:

  • This is a casual role with varied work hours across a six to seven day week.
  • Located in the outlying suburbs of Toowoomba, the role is approximately a 20 minute drive from the Toowoomba CBD.
  • A casual pay rate in the vicinity of $26.00 is on offer.
  • An immediate start is available.

Key duties:

  • Gantry operations including: Watering, EC and some spray applications, pick up, lay out or shifting, and trimming.
  • Timely trimming of plants as directed.
  • Tagging of trays accurately when laying out, loading and/or trimming.
  • Watering of seedlings.
  • Weeding or pricking.
  • Daily and weekly maintenance of machines including:
    • Cleaning the machine.
    • Cleaning the water tunnels.
    • Completing paperwork and entering KPIs.

Skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively.
  • Experience in the nursery industry.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Ability to lift up to 5 – 10kgs repetitively and safely.
  • A sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices and ability to follow them.
  • Qualifications/studies in Horticulture is desirable but not essential.
  • A current forklift licence is desirable but not essential.
